Database
Data set provided with the UNIBASE for Windows is a collection of cultivars,
which we used, in our strawberry and apple-breeding program, either as controls or
parents. Our preliminary aim was to have information on important and basic
characteristics such as male and female parents, origin, fruit and plant characteristics,
disease resistance, hardiness, and a reference to the breeder name and address and where
we got the data for individual genotypes when it was available in the literature. In some
cases we were able to find only the parentage's and for some genotypes we could find
detailed information on plant, fruit, flower, harvest, etc. In some cases we have only the
genotype name and we kept it simply to complete the pedigree of other genotypes. Some
records have only the genotype name without further information. The user can add, delete,
or modify all the available fields including the images when he has access to the
individual database. The following table summarizes a list of available database, which
will be installed during the installation. You may delete these database or add/import
your data using the option windows.
NOTE: To import your data YOU MUST FIRST CREATE a "Database", "Category" and
"Common Name". The following database are available for personal and
